Poem 2 by Shamsur Rahman Faruqi In your eyes such desire might shine for me, for its close coolness my arms might importune. Blazing, in a smoke of hot redness a smile on kiss-tempting lips showing bright as butterflies might say to me Touch me. From the curve of the neck, delicate in the half-darkness, radiant rays may entice me to bloom, perfume, flower-like in mountain valleys. Your body's scented catlike sleep alert and poised power may make me powerless. [na:zm 2[, [tumhaarii aa;Nkh me;N mere li))e aisii :talab taabii ho] translated by Frances W. Pritchett |
