"Large silver drachm, Gurjura Kingdom of Sindh (ca.570-712 AD).
Stylized
winged bust of Peroz right, wearing domed headdress / Stylized fire
altar
and attendants. 22mm, 4.2 grams, good silver. Scarce early type. The
Gurjura
Kingdom of Sindh was a part of the Gurjura Confederacy, founded when
Harichandra
Gurjura divided the Kingdom between his various sons in ca.570 AD, who
issued anonymous silver drachms until the fall of the Kindom almost 150
years later. These coins were derivatives of the Sassanian coins, and
are
sometimes referred to as the Pre-Saurashtran series."
