"Egron Selif Lundgren (1815-1875). A group of five Sikhs and Gurkhas with identifying inscription (on the reverse). Pencil and watercolour, heightened with white. 18 x 13in. (45.8 x 33.1cm.). Lundgren was Swedish by birth and was sent out to India to report on the uprising that took place between 1857 and 1858. He was a traveller artist and writer. For further information see S.
