QUR'AN SECTION, NORTH AFRICA OR NEAR EAST, 9TH CENTURY. Qur'an LXX sura al-ma'arij vv.28-45 to LXXI sura Nu vv.1-28, Manuscript on parchment, 10ff. with 7ll. of sepia kufic, diacritical marks of red and green dots, verse markers of six gold roundels arranged in a pyramid, gold half-palmette every fifth verse, elaborate gold roundel marking every tenth verse containing the verse count in gold Eastern kufic, one fine gold sura heading issuing an illuminated palmette into the margin, very good condition, verso faded. Folio 9¼ x 12¾in. (23.5 x 32.5cm.)."
