"AL-WASIYA HAZRAT IMAM 'ALI, OTTOMAN TURKEY, SECOND HALF 16th CENTURY. Imam 'Ali's advice to his sons, Hasan and Husayn, Arabic manuscript on paper, 22ff. with 5ll. of alternating black and gold muhaqqaq, text outlined with green, orange and gold rules, opening folio with illuminated heading, plus one other illuminated heading, final folio signed by the scribe Khan Ahmad Siri, later added library inscription of Baysunqur on opening flyleaf, 17th century Ottoman red morocco binding with gold tooled medallion and spandrels, repaired at spine. Folio 9¾ x 6½in. (24.7 x 16.3cm.).
Lot Notes: A manuscript copied in large thuluth signed by this calligrapher is in the Sulaymaniyya Library in Istanbul dated AH 1003/1594-5 AD.
