"QUR'AN, MUGHAL INDIA, 18TH CENTURY. Manuscript on paper, 558ff. with
11 ll. of clear black naskh with red notations over gold-speckled centre
panel, within double gold margins within black lines, gold verse markers,
sura headings in white thuluth over gold ground, juz' markers in with white
naskh on eight-pointed gold star with blue and gold foliate projections,
illuminated opening double-page with text in black naskh in clouds on gold
ground enclosed by panels with polychrome floral decoration over gold,
with cusped blue, gold and green frame, the closing double-page with similar
decoration but for straight edges, in pasteboard binding with painted medallions
in gold, red and black over brown ground, now loose from spine and chipped
and worn, otherwise manuscript in very good condtion
Folio 9 x 5 5/8in. (22.7 x 14.2cm.)."
