muddat pā-e chinār rahe haiñ muddat gulḳhan-tābī kī
barsoñ huʾe haiñ ghar se nikle ʿishq ne ḳhānah-ḳharābī kī

1) for a long time we have remained {an attentive servant / 'at the foot of the plane-tree'}, for a long time we did oven-heating
2) it's been years since we left our home-- passion made us home-wrecked

pā-e chinār = an attentive servant
gulḳhan-tābī = heating a stove or oven

The opening-verse is commonplace; I have put it here in order to establish the form of the ghazal. Although indeed, pā-e chinār / pā-chinār is a fresh and uncommon word. The truth is that it's so uncommon that it is not found in any established Urdu dictionary. [A discussion of the flaws of various Urdu dictionaries.]
