2) in a 'Solomon's stone', as if there's a sacred-thread! --[yet] they call it a 'sacred-thread'!

It really isn't very Mir-like, is it? It must have been composed in a spirit of religious polemic, because what else could have motivated it? That second line is purely argumentative. It's pretty clear that neither verse in the verse-set has much to recommend it.
